General Admission - Music and Nature Event

DATE: Friday 8/14/26   TIME: 10:00am - 5:00pm

We look forward to welcoming you to Heritage Museums & Gardens for the 2026 season!

From 10-11:30 am, join composer and songwriter David Cohen for an exploration of how composers and musicians have been inspired by the natural world, from the oceans to the mountains to the forests and beyond! Learn about the incredible influence nature has had on music from different ages, cultures, and genres. Plenty of time will be included for questions and discussion.

This seated program will take place rain or shine and will be held inside the Heald Center at the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery.

About the Speaker: David Cohen

David Cohen is a composer and songwriter who has written chamber and orchestral music, and scores for documentaries and films. He has been commissioned to compose original works to celebrate the Cape Cod Symphony's (CSO) 50th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, and created orchestral arrangements for the CSOs Holiday Concerts and Barnstable's 375th anniversary concert. His compositions have been performed at multiple venues on Cape Cod, such as the Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Cape Cod Cultural Center.

For the past few seasons, David has taught music classes covering all genres of music from pop, jazz, Broadway, classical, and world music to music lovers on Cape Cod and in Naples, FL. His focus is helping students learn “active listening” techniques to help them gain deeper levels of enjoyment from music and explore new and exciting musical adventures.

This program is free with museum admission or membership. No advance registration required.
